- Attention: Restricted air flow in the vent is also the cause of Dryer Outlet screen blackening. Restricted air leads to hot air. You have to fix the venting so it has enough airflow (clean out the dryer duct and eliminate corrugated foil flex ducts, use rigid metal duct only). More airflow will reduce the temps so things don't melt
