5 huge flashing twinkling stars. This was so good, so full of emotions, so heart wrenching. I loved every single word. If you love to see broken hearts made whole again, this is a must read.
Lifeguard Rain Wilson can’t afford to get distracted. After a horrible accident at her last park left her emotionally scarred, she’s determined to use her status as supervisor to keep everyone at her new water park safe.
Her co-supervisor Knight McAllister is the worst kind of distraction. Knight’s as gorgeous as he is stubborn, with electric blue eyes, a tall, muscled swimmer’s body, and the opinion that he doesn’t need a co-supervisor at all.
But as the season heats up, so does the temperature between the two head lifeguards. But as they find themselves drawn closer together, and their pasts start to surface, Rain and Knight are realizing that maybe too much broken can make a relationship impossible.
Then again, sometimes it’s the broken parts of us that fit together best.

I had mixed feelings about this book. There were parts I enjoyed and others, not so much. What I liked: Knight and Rain were decent characters, both were likable enough. The book flowed fine and I did not notice any grammar mistakes. Also it had a good ending as it did not end on a cliffhanger and the characters were HFN. MINOR SPOILERS: What I did not like. The immaturity of Rain. Rain, at 19 years old, felt like she caused the death of a guy she was going to date. (IMO the accident was not her fault.) Therefore she decided that she would punish herself by never having s_x and never falling in love. Alrighty now. Not exactly a mature or logical response. Also I disliked the rape theme. There were a lot of would be rapists and pedophiles lurking at the pool. Two of the boys who worked for her tried to rape her. Also, a group of 13 year old tried to sexually assault and almost drowned her. It is pool, not a youth detention center or prison. To me, a pedophile lurking...
We can take for granted at this point that NA romances must include one, but preferably two, main character that is "broken" (they must also frequently refer to themselves as "broken"). This book presents "brokenness" in abundance and the characters won't let you forget for a minute that they are broken.
In the universe of this book, rape is an omnipresent danger. There are three parties in the book (one happens before the book starts) and in all three, there is attempted rape or rape. The workplace is full of danger for women -- men are like beasts who cannot control their impulses, even when surrounded by others. Knight (yes, the male main is named Knight, presumably so we don't forget for a minute what a great guy he is compared to all the rapey rapists surrounding him) won't even let his girlfriend stand in line at Pei Wei by herself because he's afraid of what could happen to her (during lunch time at Pei Wei).
Knight's "brokenness" is because of rape...
I’m not sure where to start. I really hate giving bad reviews, but this book just didn’t do it for me. First of all, the main female character was named Rain Wilson. I know it’s spelled differently than Rainn Wilson, but I couldn’t stop myself from imagining the lead as a female version of Dwight from The Office. Then there is Knight, the male lead. I can’t figure out why authors feel the need to give their characters weird names.
Now, to discuss the story. This part may contain spoilers so beware.
Rain is a lifeguard who’s the new girl in town. Basically, her boyfriend died and she has sworn off of sex and love. Reading further into it, you find that it wasn’t actually her boyfriend. The guy died minutes after asking her out in an accident that made Rain feel like it was her fault. Not that it wasn’t tragic and she shouldn’t be broken up about it, but this seemed overly dramatic. Since they...
