Bought the X3200W based on prior history with Denon as well as next generation feature sets (atmos). Prior Denon receiver was 8 years old and I think a portion of the main board went bad; did seem young to break but we have gotten a ton of use out of it above and beyond a normal user. Did a lot of research and listening to Denon and other manufacturers in store. Chose this based on a combination of price, power, features and trust in the brand.

Fantastic sound and very easy set up. The streamlined remote and onscreen menus are a dream compared to prior iterations of just about all (older) OEM controls.

I'm usually pretty suspicious of automatic equalization and balancing schemes for a room but I tried the mic and automatic scheme. The result was much better than I was hoping for and gives movies a much better theater feel than the older Denon it replaced (similar power and specs).

Additionally, it included some functionality that I really... Read more
Overall Thoughts

Lovely receiver, well designed, perfect power for medium sized rooms, and extremely easy to set up. It is also future proofed for sometime to come with the latest HDMI spec on all HDMI inputs (UHD bluray players, Xbox one s, 4K content). Just completed setting up a new HT system in my game room. This recevier has the right amount of power for my Definitive BP8060ST speakers (Fronts), Definitive pro center 1000 (Center), SM55 bookshelfs (surround), and A60 (Atmos speakers). Running a complete Atmos package of 5.2.2 and the sound is incredible given the size of my room which is around 3000cu ft. I am an electrical engineer and assuming all the efficiencies of the power supply and the transformer this receiver is mostly putting around 70watts RMS to all channels when are all driven together. Any area of over 3000cuft, and you are better off buying a more powerful receiver or running this receiver with an external amplifier that is capable of at least 100 watts... Read more
Based purely on the A/V capabilities, this is a fine unit for the price. However, anything that uses the internet behaves poorly. The SiriusXM connection quits working periodically, giving a cryptic "Channel not available" message. Resetting the unit doesn't help, but it usually comes back in a day or few on its own. Also, the song info has various issues, showing the wrong title (presumably due to buffering ) and no artist name. Lately I have a new problem, where internet radio and siriusxm services just freeze; unplugging the unit seems to fix this, but that's a pain. I have been very disappointed in Denon service; they blame everyone else but their flaky firmware: my SiriusXM account, SiriusXM in general, my internet connection, whatever. As a software developer I love working with users who can give me specifics to help fix bugs, but Denon has pretty much ignored my complaints instead of using the detailed info I provide to fix their firmware.
