Dvorak: String Quartets 8 & 11

But not these little-known, seldom-played masterpieces, which have melodies, rhythm, and inspiration equal to the one Dvorřak Quartet most music lovers know, the American, Op. 96. This current Vlach Quartet is led by the daugher of the leader of the original ensemble. It plays with beautiful tone, nuance, and a grasp of Dvorřak's style unsurpassed in any other contemporary recordings I have heard. The finales make me want to dance!
