Americans tend to prefer more mellow Keemun teas from China for their breakfast tea. This English Breakfast blend of Keemun teas from one of America's oldest small batch tea blenders makes the perfect morning cup - with or without milk.

I previously gave this a rave review, below. I have bought this tea 16oz packages probably at least 4 times in the past and it was consistently good if not great Keemun, using it as my daily morning cup for some months now. Just received the latest shipment and it is absolutely horrible, undrinkable. Kind of tastes like poor decaf black tea, fishy, vague chlorine taste. Lacks the fine rich cocoa aroma in the bag, lacks the fine consistent dark black tea leaf appearance it previously had that indicated a fine Keemun. Asked for my money back which Amazon gave me immediately. Any cheap supermarket black tea in a bag would be better than this. Hugely disappointed, and probably will not buy anything from Elmwood Inn again if this is indicative of the lack of quality control and consistency they employ.
Previous review 9/15: Very good value, entry level Keemun. The label says English Breakfast from the Anhui Province, China, and this is indeed where Keemun traditionally comes...
I have to declare myself as a pretty serious tea snob. It's not my fault. Through different circumstances, I've been turned on to some amazingly high-quality black, green, and other fermentations. This tea, while not "exquisitely complex & delicate", is very tasty — definitely has a little chocolate and earthiness coming through. It's a great value as an "everyday" black tea. If I had a druther machine, I would dial up pots of Hao Ya A, or Golden Monkey every morning, along with the bags of cash necessary to support such indulgences. I'd rank this tea close to a good Hao Ya B — maybe even indistinguishable from one — and at a fraction of the price. I've already re-ordered, and will be doing so again.
NOTE: I'm using five solid teaspoons in a three-cup teapot, steeping for four minutes.
Lightly smoky Keemun breakfast tea. Consistent quality across batches -- we've ordered several bags of this and drink it just about every morning. This is excellent breakfast tea with a medium body and a distinctive flavor. Wouldn't be good for iced tea, but it's excellent value for hot tea.
