- Antiperspirants, compounds of aluminum salts (usually aluminum chlorohydrate or alum stone) have an astringent action and allow to control perspiration for a few hours.
- The aluminum salts are deposited on the surface of the sweat duct and slow the flow of perspiration.
- After a few hours, the aluminum salts are removed, and the perspiration is not regulated.
