This item is used when you are installing a single-hole faucet into a sink with multiple faucet mounting holes. This plate will cover the unused holes. This is a "Kitchen" size for standard kitchen sinks with 3 standard spaced holes (For kitchen sinks with 4 holes, the 4th hole is usually used for a soap dispenser, water sprayer, or is covered with a separate small round sink hole cover, sold at most home improvement stores).
