Now I know that my star appraisal i.e. 5 does not match up with the answers to how the product fits but hear me out. Firstly these boots are amazing and I was able to get them whilst (just this pair) were on sale! Usually they are in excess of $500 and I scored them for $180 (US). The boots that I bought were titled 'Dark Brown Stone Wash' yet I noticed that there were another pair that had the exact same picture but were titled ' Dark Brown Burnished Antiqued Leather'. How could this be? Especially considering that the latter pair were full priced? I then went on to the FRYE Website and found the 'Dark Brown Stone Wash' boots... They were a completely different looking boot! Amazon had shared the same picture for two different boots (and in fact, the picture did not look like either boot: stone wash or antiqued! At least this is what I hoped when I decided to buy them! ... They were exactly the same as the boots I found on the FRYE Website! Size was a huge problem for...
Dark brown stone wash. These are not like the photo in the Amazon listing. In fact, I've seen several incorrect photos throughout amazons frye boots. I'd suggest going to the frye website to decide what color you want and to disregard the images on Amazon site if they differ from fryes site. Amazon will send you the correct boot according to the color code you buy. I ONLY buy items that are both shipped and sold by Amazon. These boots (dark brown stone wash) are super rugged looking. Heavily distressed and beat. They are stiff. I have the same boot in dark brown soft vintage leather and those were way more comfortable out of the box (that color is supple and buttery). These hurt to put my foot in. I put the blow dryer in each boot for about 10 seconds to soften them and then my foot slipped right in and was significantly better. I've only been wearing them for two days with normal wool socks (and occasionally barefoot for a couple hours) and they have become way more comfortable. I...
clarification regarding size. I have own many Frye boots. The "Veronica" boots (all of them in the different styles) are exceptionally true to size for a regular to even for a little wide feet. If you always have to buy wide shoes then you may want to go to a store or macys or bloomingdales and see whar will be good for you. Toe box is not as wide as engineer boots, just a little less square and more pointy (even when still round) but they are very comfortable. Most of them come in different sole types, you can see a close up in amazon, the one with the whole sole in rubber are even more comfortables and better for slippery winter surfaces. The ones with just a half of rubber in the heel, you may want to add complete rubber heel, as they be slippery. Personally the Veronica boots are my favorite and more comfy styles from Frye. Good luck!
