As with others in their series of live recordings, Favorite Song includes applause, individual testimony, and rousing congregational participation, as in "God Is Moving by His Spirit." Buoyed by remarkably strong and regularly featured soloists (Robin Giles, Charles Allen, Cynthia Greene), the choir marries elements of traditional black gospel with contemporary Christian choral arrangements, typified by the elegant vocal and instrumental build of "Use Me."
