++++Reissued with Bonus Disc of original demos & new liner notes by Brian Fallon+++
Originally released in 2002, Jesse Malin's classic solo debut is to be reissued on 26th February as a limited run on double CD and Vinyl with new sleevenotes by The Gaslight Anthem s Brian Fallon. The second disc adds 11 more tracks originally demoed for the record at Electric Lady studios, only 4 of which made it to the final version which gives an insight into the quantity and quality of material to hand at the time. Says Jesse of the record today: Ryan Adams inspired me to be fearless and free on my first record as a solo artist. I had no idea I'd still be playing these songs years later and I'm grateful to him for his perfect production, amazing playing and giving me a kickstart down a new road after singing in a punk rock band. These songs are all very, very personal to me and they took me from my crooked, downtown studio apartment to the rest of the world. We recorded and mixed the record in five days with the wonderful Tom Schick and the controls. I've since yet to do a record this fast or this real. The sessions also featured Smashing Pumpkins/Hole bass player Melissa Auf der Maur contributing soulful back-up vocals and Joe McGinty (Spacehog, Psychedelic Furs, Angels of Light) on keys. Malin s songs are so good they hurt my feelings said Adams at the time.
