A historical fiction set in sixteenth century India, Follow the Cowherd Boy is based on the true life story of a female folk hero Mira. By birth a princess, by talent a poet, by path a rebel, Mira became a legend:

"The year is 1543.

Invading Moghul and Afghan tribes have staked claims to India. Defenders of this ancient land, the Rajput strongholds of Merwar and Merta come together in an alliance that will unite their kingdoms against the might of the invaders.

The symbol of their alliance is thirteen year old Mira.

Princess Mira of Merta marries Prince Bhoj of Merwar. The future of their kingdoms and endurance of their culture rests on this union, for the invaders are brutally destroying everything in their path.

Yet Mira is no ordinary girl. Compelled by her conscience, she defies the rules of society to seek the true path. When she meets a wandering holy man by the name of Ravi Das, things become complicated. Ravi guides Mira on a spiritual journey that poets have sung about for centuries.

Unfortunately, Bhoj's cousin Vikram is not interested in peace or in Mira's path. He wants the throne, the glory and Mira herself and he will stop at nothing to get them.

Unbeknownst to all, there are even greater forces at work."
