Digitally remastered and expanded edition of this 1978 album from the Soul singer, songwriter, musician, producer and actor. FOR THE SAKE OF LOVE was the second studio album released on Polydor Records from Hayes. The precursor to the hugely successful Don't Let Go, this album was also well received by the record buying public gaining a #15 spot in the R&B album chart. The album features a mix of up-tempo Disco tracks such as 'Shaft II' and 'Zeke the Freak' providing the adrenaline to the more subdued cuts of the album all of which are smoothed over with that unmistakable baritone gloss of Isaac Hayes. FOR THE SAKE OF LOVE includes such notable tracks as Isaac Hayes iconic rendition of the Billy Joel penned 'Just the Way You Are' and the wonderful horn and string-laden 'Shaft II' constantly moving forward under the drive of a gripping bass line and guitar lick.
