Finely detailed 1/350 scale assembly model kit of the World War II Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) Battleship "HARUNA". Named after Mount Haruna of eastern Honshu, Japan and originally a Kongo-class battle-cruiser designed by British naval engineer George Thurston, the IJN Haruna was laid down in 16 March 1912. In 1926, the IJN Haruna was rebuilt as a battleship, and in 1933, her superstructure was completely rebuilt, further upgrades were made to her speed and power output, and the Haruna was reclassified as a fast battleship capable of the speeds necessary to accompany Japan's carrier-fleet. The IJN Haruna saw action in almost every major naval engagement of the Pacific Theatre during World War II (most notable in the Battle of Midway between 4 and 7 June 1942), and she was sunk by an U.S. Navy aircrafts of Task Force 38 on 24 July 1945. This beautifully detailed 1/350 scale assembly kit by Fujimi features exquisite details with photo-etched parts for Anti-Aircraft Guns (single, Dual, Triple and 12.7cm Gun). This kit's first production batch currently includes parts that are otherwise sold separately: - 1 set of Imperial Japanese Navy Seamen Figure Set #2. - 8 Pieces of Brass Cannon Gun Barrel.
