11 elements in 8 groups, including three ED (extra low-dispersion) elements, which reduces chromatic aberrations to deliver sharp, rich images even at the widest aperture of F2.0.

The Fujinon XF90mm F2 LM WR is a fast-aperture prime lens with a focal length equivalent to 137mm (35mm Eq) and a maximum aperture of F2.0, that delivers ultra-sharp images with rich bokeh even at the maximum aperture setting. This is an early review: I've only had the lens for two days, and I've maybe taken a few hundred photos with it. I shoot with an x-t1 and have the newest firmware (4.0).
Every aspect of the image quality is out-of-this-world from center to edge/corner at essentially every aperture setting, including f2. I haven't tested it much past f11 yet. If you peruse the internet for early reviews of the lens, everyone is drooling.
It's so incredibly sharp that I'll just use this as my telephoto lens most of the time: I can easily crop out half of the pixels to get a 200mm full-frame-equivalent photo (at about 7mp, which is fine for most online work and smaller prints).
The aperture ring is nice and firm - a little more firm than the XF 23mm. Maybe a little too firm if you really want to move it with one finger.
I like that the focus ring isn't a clutch-style mechanism: I like to use the Auto+Manual focusing mode; and, it's really not that hard to...
Have had this lens now for the past week. It is sublime. The image quality paired with the XT1 is superb. I’ve had many of the Canon L lenses and this equals or exceeds every one, excepting for maybe their super-priced primes eg 200/1.8, 200/2, 300/2.8 etc.
The sheer colour/bokeh/rendering is astounding. However, I have found it very slow to focus and yes, I have firmware 4.0 installed. However for portraits this is not a problem.
As for lack of IS/VR, who cares? I don’t need IS as I can keep the shutter speed high enough even in low light. And shooting Fuji means ISO 6400 is a doddle. Oh, and I shoot in jpg. Life is too short to be mucking around with raw files when Fuji jpg’s are so good.
Awesome lens and great review. Thanks.
Really like this lens. Compared to the 55-200, it costs $250 more, has slightly sharper images, and gains two stops at 90mm (F4 vs F2). You lose OIS. For most of my shooting, (family and friends), I can use the 55-200 just fine. You will need to make your choice based on how you plan to use the lens. I'm staying with 55-200.
