Global Mediascape and the Cultural Hybridity: The Case of the Korean Wave

This book raises critical issues about how we should best manage the challenges posed by globalization. To what extent should states assert control over their media sector? To what extent should a state as agency seek to insulate itself from global pressures, both economic and cultural? What are the economic and cultural consequences of the practice and appropriation of globalization with regard to the national and transnational media industries? What kind of role is played by the state, media and culture industries in this process?
