Graciously Unapologetic: A Renewed Way to be in Christian Schools

Deb Benson lives what she has written in this seminal piece of writing. She herself is a sojourner in a life dedicated to Christlikeness and authentic Christian education. Ideas in the book gave me excellent new insights into dealing with the “seeker” and “discipling” in the context of Christian schools. Revival of Christian schools in an age of moral relativism and blasé parental responses to education could result from serious consideration of the ideas in Deb’s book. Such revival is possible only in humility and with an honesty that would allow for the proper mix of grace and truth of which Deb writes in her book.

I was an English teacher and I am an avid writer, but I have seldom discovered a writer with a greater grasp of vocabulary in stating profound ideas; Deb’s intellect and writing ability have allowed her to carefully crafted sentences in a tome that will need to be read over and over again by Christian educators and boards that are dedicated to seeing Christian schools thrive and not just survive. Our educational era so desperately needs the redemption of people, as well as the redemption of learning that can come only through Jesus Christ and the direction of the Holy Spirit.
