One of your key causes of tuning frustration is string binding at the nut.An inexpensive and quick solution to what you need are TUSQ-NUTS. TUSQ-NUTS alleviate the binding grip of the nut on the string and reduces friction between the nut material and the string. This is accomplished using a nut manufactured from an engineered resonant base material impregnated with Teflon. As strings move across a TUSQ-NUT, they shear open microscopic "capsules" loaded with millions of "ball bearing"-type lubricants. For strings, it's like a hardwood floor covered in marbles... strings roll back into tune. It's that simple! When installing a TUSQ-NUT, replace any retainers (string trees) with TUSQ-NUT string retainers to alleviate friction and binding at these contact points.TUSQ is very easy to sand or file and is very resistant to chipping or flaking.
