The Norwegian cellist Truls Mørk's intensity and imagination illuminate this collection of concertos and other works with orchestra, recorded between 1991 and 2008. Every facet of the soloist is revealed in these nine CDs. Spanning the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, they include the 'essential' concertos of Dvorak, Elgar and Haydn, atmospheric pieces by Tchaikovsky and Bruch; and, demonstrating Mørk's commitment to modern music, works by Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Britten, Dutilleux, Kernis, and Pärt.
