These cups are 100% compostable in commercial compost facilities and have been certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI). Greenhouse Compostableâ„¢ paper cups are coated with Ingeoâ„¢ polylactic acid biopolymer (PLA) which is derived from renewable plant sources and is designed to compost in 3-6 months in commercial compost facilities. Â
- Not for hot beverages that exceed 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Appropriate composting facilities may not exist in your area, check with local officials and your waste management company.
- Meets ASTM D6868 standards for compostability.
- Not suitable for backyard composting.
