Magnet Puzzle Indian Square includes 36 wooden pieces total, in beautifully saturated colors. What dramatic designs can you come up with? This set of magnetic puzzle pieces comes in a black metal tin that is the perfect size for holding on one's lap. The storage box can serve as a canvas for your magnetic artwork. Motivated by the principles of Waldorf and Montessori education, Grimm's Spiel und Holz toys are designed to challenge children to think, create and use their imagination while engaging in open-ended, independent play.

The pieces of this puzzle are made from laser-cut 1/8 inch birch plywood, then colored with non-toxic water-based dyes that meet US and European safety standards (no lacquer is used so as to preserve the natural feel of the wood). Finally, a piece of magnetic strip is applied on the back of each piece. This assembly is done by mentally-challenged adults in a robust program in Germany that allows individuals with handicaps to find meaningful paid work in a supportive environment, allowing them to earn an income and gain independence.

This set travels well: simply bring the metal box along and the magnetic pieces stick to the inside! Children can build designs inside either side of the box, or use a different magnetic surface such as one of Grimm's Magnetic Black Boards or Travel Case. Not recommended for use on the refrigerator door as the magnets are not super-strong and will fall off as door swings. Instead use a stationary metallic/magnetic surface.
