This book contains some good principles for achieving happiness. The concept I appreciated the most was that of "working towards temporary destinations." I also appreciated the advice to change the stories we tell ourselves.

Much of the book felt abstract to me. I would have enjoyed it more if it had more concrete examples or real-life stories that demonstrate the happiness habits in practice.

And while what's in the book is good, I felt there were some missing pieces. For example, there's no discussion about how to stop comparing yourself with other people around you.

Nevertheless, if you're looking for a brief but good introduction to some happiness habits that can help you today, then this is a good book to get.
For a dollar I get the key to happiness? I'd have paid twice as much. Seriously, we overlook the simple things that can make us happy. I'm tempted to list them but then this would be a spoiler and not a review. So often you can read this kind of "make your life better book" and the writer comes off as arrogant, a know it all that is a real turnoff for me. Dr. Phil comes to mind. However, this book has the sense of someone speaking from lived life that I trust and I'm going to start my journal tonight. So glad I stumbled across it.
I really enjoyed this book. It packed a lot of punch in the areas of dealing with your past, being honest with yourself, and building routines that will help your attitude and happiness. This can be a very gut-wrenching topic, but it was approached with honesty and respect, as happiness can unveil some very deep psychological topics. This book will help you be more aware of yourself, and make steps toward building positive habits.
