They fit tight. Soak them in lukewarm water for 15 minutes then wring excess water out and wear until mostly dry. They will then conform to your hand and fit nicely but not painfully snug like they do out of the package. I don't find I have the same dexterity as with neoprene or nylon/cotton frisk gloves but they are decent. If handling a weapon I prefer something with a little more dexterity so these will be by "in station" search gloves. They offer no warmth factor so don't buy them expecting to keep your hands warm.
Great fit indeed. I don't think you need to order a size up, those people that say that may be a victim of not knowing their own hand size. But I only have one issue, one thumb (Right ) was shorter than the other (Left). I read a couple of reviews stating that, I took a pic of mine.
First off, I've decided to exchange the gloves. Added pics of the returned pair next to measuring tape (measured longest seam to the tip). Secondly, I put the request in Saturday 12/20, received the replacement pair Monday 12/22 (Amazon do not play, I like). Third, quality is still great, the new pair thumbs both measure 4 1/8 inches long. I was happy about the gloves then and I'm still happy with them now. Lastly, it was packaged a whole lot better the second go around, that was a plus. Thank you Amazon.
I am a patrol officer in a rural, cold-weather area. Hatch makes a very good glove, and is just about the least expensive option when it comes to a quality, kevlar-lined search glove. I'm looking forward to when a company makes a needle-proof glove that is more within my price range. I use these gloves for regular patrol functions, as well as for warmth. I have found that they offer the best mix between protection, work function and providing heat. They are surprisingly warm and do not interfere with use of tools and weapons. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as a base-line for duty gloves. NOTE: They run about one size too small. I am a medium in everything, and the gloves were a little snug. Order one size up.
