The plug is made from renowned Bakelite (phenolic plastic). It is extremely heat-resistant and sturdy. Even if you exceed the recommended current levels, the plug will not melt or catch on fire. The built-in 15A fuse will burn out if the current exceeds recommended levels (if that happens, the kit includes a 20A spare fuse which then can be used) in order to protect the cable and prevent any damage to you or your appliances.
