We build these new hickey bars in Houston, Texas and they have been field tested tough by my local customers. We provide these tools for custom rebar installers who work with swimming pools and spas mainly. These hickies have been built to their specifications. The 30" handle is designed for professional pool and spa builders who need the small size to get into tight places. The handle is 3/4 steel tubing. It weighs about 3 1/2 lbs to 4 lbs. The head is made of 3/8" plate with threaded hardened studs pressed and then welded in. We paint the heads red to reduce the effects of corrosion and to make it easier to keep track of on site. These tools are generally used in pairs but this listing is for ONE Bender. These are excellent hand tools for the home owner also because they are inexpensive and small to get into tight locations. This is absolutely the perfect tool for bending "3/8 through "5/8 inch rebar. To bend very close radius you need two hickies. One to hold or brace the rebar and the other to do the actual bending.
