The intriguing dark coloring of these pearls exhibits deeper toning than most naturally colored Tahitian pearls, but unlike Tahitian pearls free-form baroque freshwater pearls are 100% nacre and do not have a nucleus at their core. In other words, they're 100% pearl! Their intriguing baroque shapes formed naturally in the shell, thus they are called free-form baroque. Each pearl is unique in form, adding a layer of complexity to the design. The pearls were color treated to create their dark tones; they have not been lacquered and the color is permanent.
