It has many similar applications and is considered both stimulating and relaxing to the mind. Ho Wood is also reported to have anti-depressant, anti-microbial, anti-septic, aphrodisiac, and bactericidal properties. There are also claims that it can play a role as a cellular stimulant, cephalic, and tissue regenerator. * Consistency: Thin * Note: Middle * Strength of Aroma: Medium * Blends well with: Bergamot, Lavender, Geranium, Sandalwood and Cedarwood. Aromatic Scent: Ho Wood Essential Oil has a woody, floral aroma that has sweet and camphoraceous notes. * History: Ho Wood became popular in Taiwan during the 1900's as a linalool rich product from the Camphor tree. Locally it was referred to as Shiu oil. It didn't gain commercial popularity until approximately 1985 when a major explosion at a Linalool producing facility greatly decreased available supply making Ho Wood a natural replacement.

I simply love this oil. It smells very woodsy and fragrant. Like all of the Eden's Gareden oils that I have, I mix with a carrier oil (safflower oil or almond oil), to create a therapeudic oil for myself and for my family members. The aroma is true to note. I also have bipolar disorder, so inhaling the scent helps with my depression. I would definitely buy from Eden's Garden again.
This Ho Wood EO took a minute to grow on me. That's okay because I've grown to like it. I diffuse it as a room fragrant, and it works well as a bottom note to undercut some of my overly sweet oils. I'm a guy who likes nice aromas, but dislike the house or myself (or my boys) smelling like a fruit loop. (That was not a socially charged commentary, btw.) I'd buy this EO from Edens Garden again as I appreciate most of the EO purchased with them. This Ho Wood is one of my favorite oils to diffuse alone or in a blend. Goes nice with bergamot and lavender. Will do more research on Ho Wood and explore other uses. If anyone has suggestions on how they've used this oil please enlighten us.
HoWood has a strange name, but it is indeed a delicious oil. It has wood notes, but not overpowering at all, and it has a complex but uplifting fragrance.
