Damien lay in her bed. Their bed. She sat at the edge of the bed, looking out of the window. The half-moon could barely be seen along the edge of the tree line in the distance.

â€œTell me what youâ€™re thinking,â€ Damien said.

â€œYou know what Iâ€™m thinking.â€ The words were out before Julia could stop them. She wanted to reach out and pluck them back out of the air as soon as they had left.

â€œI know how youâ€™re feeling. Nervous. Sad.â€

â€œAnd a little hopeful,â€ Julia said. â€œI hope that when I come back, we can start our family.â€

â€œI hope so too,â€ Damien said, tugging his fingers into the waistband of her jeans. â€œFor now, though, this will have to be a purely recreational exercise.â€

Julia couldnâ€™t help but laugh as he pulled her towards him and into a deep kiss.

â€œRecreational, you say?â€ she asked. â€œAnd you with a broken leg? Iâ€™m looking forward to playing with you when youâ€™re not all broken up and bruised.â€

â€œNever mind that,â€ Damien said. â€œI want you to strip for me.â€

â€œI hate to remind you,â€ Julia said, leaning forward to press a kiss to her mateâ€™s forehead, â€œbut youâ€™re blind.â€

â€œThen youâ€™ll have to stay pretty close,â€ he said, running his hands down Juliaâ€™s sides. â€œSo I can feel you.â€

â€œAlright,â€ Julia said. She unbuttoned her blouse as Damienâ€™s fingers slipped down after hers, smoothing over her skin. Damien curled one finger down into the top edge of her bra.

â€œHey now, no peeking!â€

â€œSorry,â€ Damien said, but the grin on his face belied his words.

Julia pulled off her top and threw it to the ground, standing up to unbutton her jeans. Damienâ€™s hands moved down over her hips as she shuffled her jeans down.
