Place the screwdriver tip into the screw like normal. Making sure the blades & tip of the screwdriver fit into the head slots in the screw as best as possible (considering that the slots in the screw are messed up).use something like a small hammer (or other heavy object)...and as firmly as you dare...tap on top of the screwdriver (do not allow the screwdriver to move while tapping it). 2. No, my title does not refer to your feet, but the rubber feet on the bottom of your Macbook Pro. I have a 2011 15" Macbook Pro and two of the bottom feet have seen better days. One of those feet was pretty much gone and left a hole on the bottom that was Sucking up dust and dirt into my computer. I decided recently that I needed to get this fixed.
Infinite Products has created this kit with everything you need to replace the rubber feet. It was very simple to do and to be honest I did not even need to read the instructions (it includes a link to the Apple website to help you if you need it.) After I took the bottom of the Macbook Pro off (a screwdriver is even included!), I determined that the other two rubber feet were ready to give out. These feet seem higher quality than the original ones so I decide to go ahead and replace them all.
The entire process took about 10 minutes. You basically snap the feet into place (each one is keyed so you can't misalign...
I have a mid-2010 Macbook Pro. Over the years, I've managed to lose all of the feet but one, and that one was re-glued to the bottom of the case using contact cement.
I bought this kit to replace the feet. The kit comes with the external feet, an internal plug for each foot, a screwdriver, and a small tube of super glue. There's a printed sticker giving a description of the contents, a URL pointing to the official Apple instructions for foot replacement, an email address for support with the company, and a brief blurb describing the business and asking for feedback.
The actual process to disassemble the bottom cover using the included screwdriver, replace the feet, and reassemble took me less than 5 minutes. I imagine it might take a bit more if any of the original feet are still attached and need to be removed, but it shouldn't be considerably more. This is an easy and cheap DIY fix that avoids having to make a trip to an Apple store.
Equivalent to OEM. To install properly, you must remove case back. Good instructions on youtube. You might visit the youtube page if in doubt of your mechanical capabilities. An easy install, but it is beyond some.
