Innovating Science food nutrients test kit is used to study the importance of proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids in living organisms, and features activities for identifying a positive test result for proteins using biuret reagent, examining the reaction between Benedict’s reagent and a simple sugar, and testing for the presence starch and lipids using a fat-soluble dye and iodine/potassium iodide. The kit has materials for three experiments for hands-on learning, and includes an instructions and material safety data sheet (MSDS) packet for product information and handling procedures. The kit is suitable for age 13 and older with adult supervision, and meets the requirements for Department of Transportation (DOT) small quantity exemption 173.4, and conforms to 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 173.4 for domestic highway or rail transport only.
