The proper adjustment is 1 to 2 Inch lower than the normal hackamore. The amount of rate is surprising and while providing plenty of flex for turns. The cable slobber bar is covered with soft plastic. This Hackamore is recommended for educated riders with well schooled, but strong or very keen horses. The curb chain is attached with quick links.
