The New Testament writers quote or refer to Isaiah over 200 times. Isaiah's message permeates the entire New Testament. He has at his command a vocabulary richer than any other prophet. The book of Isaiah needs to be studied as a literary work of art, viewed with eyes that appreciate its beauty. The imagery of Isaiah must be taken in as one would gaze on a masterpiece, drinking in the majesty and flowing with its movements. There is a wealth to be found in this book! While the glory of God is its major theme, Isaiah's sweeping scope covers nearly 50 years of Israel's history and thousands of years of Israel's future. It is a book for today. It is yet to be 'cracked open' and enjoyed like precious fruit by this generation. God shines bright and His purpose is revealed through the prophecies of Isaiah.
