I was skeptical about purchasing a brand that was unknown because I did purchase 2 other no name brands that had issues previously from power button not working, difficulty holding a charge, keyboard keys failing, etc. I replaced my network card on my laptop but the Bluetooth wasn't working which I needed to connect with the current wireless Logitech keyboard (which I really liked). I still wanted wireless so I decided to look for keyboard with 2.4ghz USB receiver ASAP for work! I found this one the price was amazing and had great reviews, but still skeptical as mentioned it was unknown brand. I received it open the package as if I were a 5 year old at Christmas, more so out of desperation than joy. I was irked because I couldn't find the USB receiver, I was looking in every corner of the box and examined the plastic it was wrapped in. I was ticked. So I decided to examine the keyboard more and opened up the battery bay and BAM! To my surprise there it was in the battery bay a section...
I purchased this keyboard to put on my desk - I often have to switch between and a mac and a PC and after trying a software solution that ended up being a bit laggy I decided to just go with a small-footprint keyboard off to the side. I picked the JETech simply because it was inexpensive, however I can't say that I have any complaints. The keyboard wakes more quickly than the one I have for my mac, its range is perfectly fine for desk use (perhaps not for HTPC/Home Theatre, YMMV) and despite the price tag seems to miss key presses less than others I have tried (these cheap keyboards are notorious for not registering key presses).
As this keyboard is used more sparingly than my main wireless keyboard I can't really comment on battery life - it would have an unfair advantage due to different usage patterns. I wouldn't use it for any serious typing, but for switching to a PC for a few minutes at a time it's more than adequate.
Overall for the price I can't complain!
I've been using this keyboard for about one week at work. I elevate my laptop to eye level and then have this keyboard low to make for a more ergonomically friendly environment for my neck and wrists. It works flawlessly so far without any missed key strokes. It takes 2 AAA batteries and has a place to store the USB receiver in the battery compartment. It's about the size of my keyboard on a 13" laptop. There's a numeric pad available with the function key pressed and using UIO-JKL-M,. keys which is helpful if you have some numbers to input in a spreadsheet. I carry it to and from work using the bubble wrap sleeve it came in and it fits in my messenger bag without issue. I highly recommend this especially considering the price.
