Additional Information

Everyone needs to be rescued sometimes.

Everyone but Hannah Montgomery, that is. She just needs a vacation. Three weeks in New Zealand to sort out her life, figure out what she wants, seems just right. Oh, and to relax. She should definitely put that on the agenda. She certainly isn't looking for a fling with a professional rugby player, no matter how attractive he is. Hannah doesn't do casual. But maybe just this once ...

Drew Callahan is happy to help Hannah find all the fun she's been missing. But as much as he's shared with her, he's kept one very big secret. And learning the truth, now that she's back home again, has made Hannah more wary than ever. Drew knows that she's right for him. But how can he convince her to let down her guard enough to explore what they could have together?

Note: This romance, like New Zealand, contains a bit of steam. If that isn't your cuppa, maybe visit some other country ... er, book.

I can't disagree with any of the previous reviewers about this book. I read it in the span of a few hours because I simply could not put it down! And when I finished, I went right back to the beginning and read it again.

Like the others, I loved the fact that the characters in this book were "real". The heroine had some serious emotional issues that didn't magically disappear in a chapter. Although the hero did seem a little too good to be true, but heck, isn't that the point? Who wouldn't love to be swept off their feet by a hunky rugby player who loves to play the provider and protector?

The author successfully creates a wonderful backdrop of New Zealand and its cultural treasures without distracting from the main storyline. And while the love scenes are hot, they aren't over the top.

I have found a new favorite author in Mrs. James and look forward to reading her other novels.
Loved the start.... and the last chapter... but the in between...?? No.... Almost gave a 2 star...

I am a kiwi and I actually found parts of this book a bit annoying as sometimes I thought it made us Kiwis seems a little simple and the way it made us sound... seriously are we that bad? Maybe I am judging it harder as I am a Kiwi? The worse for me was when they first had sex and he wanted to do it like horse's?? Hello???

I also felt that I didn't form a relationship with the characters, Hannah just seemed so boring and there was nothing that made me what to grab on to her and love her... Drew was better, but maybe only because he was an All Black.

I also found the over use of comma's (,) really really annoying! I so nearly put the book down, but did want to know where the book was going to go.

End of the day, there is no way I would read any other books in this series or author. I love a good romance and I don't normally review so... Read more
I really tried to make it to the end of this book, but I just couldn't do it. I prefer to draw my own conclusions as to a character's feelings, motivations, etc. Show me, don't tell me. Knock out all the adverbs, go with 'he said' and 'she said', and I'm there. I just can't handle 'she protested nervously', or 'he growled angrily', (or whatever; those may or may not be direct quotes, but there was a lot of that kind of thing, and I can't take much of that). So. Not the book for me, although others obviously liked it.
