- The JR Hokkaido Hidokan Transportation Office Blue Mail Exchange Office (formerly 5 Cage Engineering District). From 2010, this style is reproduced by replacing the regular pantograph of the 2-end side (by Hakodata) with a single arm pantaggraph
- It reproduces a compact appearance that continues the flow of the ED75. Realistic reproduction of the rooftop equipment that is characterized by AC electric locomotive with metal wire and green insulation
- It has been used for towing the bedside express "North Star Star", "Twilight Express", "Casio Pair", and "Hannasu". You can enjoy the ED79 late year of the year when you replace the regular pantograph from the original lower frame intersection to a single arm pantograph
