Ultra Bright Fused-Quartz Xenon Bulb: Produces 3X brighter light than halogen, uses up to 80% less power, increases visibility, and has long lasting non-fading lifetime
HID lights have a glass chamber of gas that replaces the filament of traditional halogen light bulbs. The gas is ignited with an approximately 23,000 volt charge and stays illuminated by a constant 12v source that is provided by a ballast which is connected directly to your battery. Remarkably, HID lights are able to provide greater light output with much less power consumption. Studies show that a 35 watt HID lamp produces 3 times as much light compared to a 55 watt halogen bulb. Moreover, the 55 watt halogen bulb uses a continuous power draw of 10-15 amps, while the HID system uses 20 amps for starting up, but then drops down to a mere 3 amps during operation (that is up to 80% less power during use!). In addition to high output and low power usage, the HID headlight provides longer service life. With no filament to vibrate and fatigue, under normal driving conditions, HID bulbs last roughly 10 times longer than halogen bulbs. What is the HID Color Temperature? Color Temperature is a measurement in Degrees Kelvin that indicates the hue of a light source, in this case the HID bulb. Color temperature is a characteristic of light that is sometimes misunderstood as brightness, when it's more closely related to cool and warm color tones of light. While cool and warm are words used to describe a light's temperature, this may be a bit misleading. The term color temperature actually refers to the color that is associated with the amount of heat needed to produce a color in from an ideal black body. Here is a rough guide to Color Temperatures for our HID bulbs. It is hard to describe HID colors accurately because different people tend to perceive colors slightly differently. 3000k= Yellow, 4300k= Bright White with a hint of yellow, 6000k= Pure white light (some people detect a slight blue), 8000k= White light with a blue tinge, 10000k= Light blue, 12000k= Deeper Blue, 30000k= Violet/Purple.

I can't say enough about Kensun as a company. Their products are excellent for what they cost and they truly stand by their 2 year warranty. I had defective bulb almost a year in and without any hassle at all, they sent me a SET of replacement bulbs. Throughout the process, they kept in communication with me on the replacement status. It's refreshing to know that great companies with great customer service as a priority, still exist out there. They stand by their products and truly care about the customer. You can buy this great product and have piece of mind that it will last or they'll respond promptly and replace it for you. I've had these bulbs for almost a year and they are still running strong. They produce a nice bluish-white light and really make a difference in visibility. As always, use these with caution as traditional housings that previously held Halogen bulbs were not designed for HIDs and therefore cause glare to oncoming cars.
KenSun certainly has GREAT customer service. Very unusual with an internet company.
Here's why I'm changing over to 5000K bulbs.
So far, the KenSun 35watt 6000K HID system I installed 2 months ago has worked flawlessly in my 98 Corolla. However, I found that 35 watts is the absolute bare minimum I would want in a HID system. I probably should have chosen the 55 watt system. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE 6/8/16... I switched to Opt 7 LED headlamps. They seem to be more reliable, brighter and no warm up time.
UPDATE 11/29/15- My left headlamp began turning off after 20 seconds all by itself. Even the high beam was off. I was hoping the ballast was not the problem. It wasn't... replacing the bulb seems to have solved the problem, so I replaced both bulbs with these 5000k. I'm glad it...
Perfect fit for my 2006 GLI, which means it would fit all MK5 GLI's and GTI's that use the OEM projector headlights. I didn't have to alter the bulbs or the headlights in any way to get them to work. Direct plug and play. Looking directly at the headlight, they look white with a hint of blue. However when driving and looking on the road, they cast more of a blue light than white.
Keep in mind, being the further away from pure white you go, is the less useable light your bulb will produce. The more blue you go, the less visible the road will be. With these 8000K bulbs I get both the stylish hint of blue I desire as well as an acceptable level of night time visibility. I'm sure aftermarket ballasts would make them brighter than the stock OEM ballasts as well.
Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better product, ESPECIALLY considering the price.
