Bought for my 8-yr old son's birthday, who is into all things military right now, especially dressing up like so. He is thin-average build, a little on the tall side for his age. Arrived nicely packaged. The quality is superb, way better than anything needed for costume-play, but I know he appreciates this even more because of the high quality. The material is thick and strong. The helmet is very sturdy - hard green plastic with cloth covering as seen in my pics. The material covering the helmet is the same as the vest - so both vest and helmet match color/pattern. (it may not look it in my pics but must be due to the flash/lighting). The covering for the helmet also has string-ties to tight the fabric tighter if you wish, though I found it not necessary to do so. The vest allows for so much future growth, I'm sure we will have at least 5+ more years before he grows out of it. He loves all the pockets that house his compass, binoculars, tools.
