I had read on Consumers Reports about these batteries, and as usual, they were right. They are the best in the market for your money. Who needs the Bunny?
While a consumer magazine might have rated them highly for their cost and power delivery, you might also consider the cost of replacing the device you put them in. From reading other reviews, these batteries are developing quite a reputation as leakers. I just tossed a weather station / clock this morning because the Kirkland batteries I had installed oozed into the electronic. It was working yesterday, and the batteries were dated 2022. In fact, I've had relatively new packages of Kirkland batteries, purchased fresh at Costco, start leaking without having put them in anything. Apparently Kirklands are made by Duracell, and their reputation is tanking too, and for the same reason. So don't reach for the "Copper Tops" and think by paying more you'll be better off. If your device is worth a lot, remove the batteries when not in use, or check often.
In the last few years, there have been both negative and positive stories about Kirkland batteries.
In March 2015, Consumer Reports reported that Kirkland batteries were a BEST BUY. See page 20 of that issue, perhaps at your library.
Several years earlier, I do not have the date, it was reported that more than an acceptable number of Kirkland batteries leaked acid.
My March 2015 conclusion was to feel free to purchase these "Best Buy Batteries" but to make sure that you were purchasing the newest batteries possible, not ones that were over a year old. _
Note: I have no affiliation with Costco or Kirkland, and I don't own any stocks that would benefit me if you read my review. I am not advertising this product, and will not benefit in any way from your purchase. I post it for your knowledge, and urge you to go read this magazine at your library if you don't already get it at home.
