Kotobuki Fukuro Owl Charm Yakuyoke-un Collectible Figurine, Warding Off Bad Spirits, Grey
Traditional folk craft
Symbol of good luck
Made in Japan
In Japan, grey owls are talismans for warding off bad spirits. While there is only one grammatically correct way to write fukuro (owl) in Japanese, the word is often written with kanji characters which are homonyms for "luck" or "bringing luck". For this reason, in Japan owls have long been seen as a harbinger of good luck and more recently, as in Western culture, symbols of wisdom.
