Lacquer ware production in the Wakasa region of Japan began during the edo period in the 17th century. Well known throughout Japan as the region that produces the finest lacquer ware in the country, the traditions of the Wakasa lacquer artisans, with their fine craftsmanship and attention to detail, continue to this day. This round tray measures 13-1/2 in diameter. The tray has a high-gloss red lacquer interior finish and black exterior finish.
