At firstly,you could make sure time of transmission and the frequency of shortwave radio
stretched antenna outdoor is better:
Because shortwave length much shorter than other wave, thus building is a relatively large obstacles.so the signal strength will be weak indoors than outdoors, so the best way to listen to shortwave should be: extend antenna outdoor.
if day time not good,try it night,maybe the SW reception is more better.
