LOIRE VALLEY and CHÂTEAUX - A BICYCLE YOUR FRANCE GUIDEBOOK

The 17 routes in this guidebook explores 29 very grand chateaux and a royal abbaye. Between these châteaux and their communities spread through the valleys of the
Loire, Cher, Vienne, and Indre Rivières are gently rolling hills and some thick forests.

This guidebook is much more than cycling, it also delves into the history of these châteaux.

As in much of the rest of France, the Loire Valley has paved bicycle paths separated from auto and truck traffic. Through metropolitan areas, there are painted bicycle lanes, often shared with busses (which seems somewhat irrational to me).

In addition to discussions of Renaissance Architecture and the Loire Rivière, there are 44 short discussions about the towns and châteaux the routes pass.

Included are 203 photographs and 18 two-page maps. Also, there are 12 town and châteaux graphics.
