Logan Smith Machine Company was founded in 1976. Primarily a contract manufacturing business dedicated to establishing strategic partnerships with high-tech companies that needed engineering problem solving resources, high precision, and cost-effective production with on-time delivery.? In addition to the spring compressor line of LSM products, there was a real need in the racing community for a precision tool that would measure valve springs on the head without removing the springs. Drag racers needed to check their springs between rounds, circle track racers needed to check springs between heats and in between races, and engine builders needed to check valve springs on the dyno.
