La Tourangelle Avocado Oil is 100% pure, all-natural and handcrafted from premium avocados. Avocado oil is processed on equipment like that used to process extra virgin olive oil. The avocado pulp is first expeller-pressed usually using a centrifuge. It is then lightly filtered and "polished" using another centrifuge. It takes 15 to 20 avocados to make 1 (one) 250 ml/8 ounce tin. The result is a beautiful, emerald green oil with high levels of monounsaturated fats that will bring delicious, light, fruity flavor to your dishes. La Tourangelle Avocado Oil, like La Tourangelle Extra Virgin Olive Oil and La Tourangelle Roasted Hazelnut Oil, contains oleic acid, a monounsaturated fat that may help lower cholesterol. In one study of people with moderately high cholesterol levels, individuals who ate a diet high in avocados showed clear improvements in their overall health. After a few days on a diet that included avocados, they had significant decreases in total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol, along with an increase in health promoting HDL cholesterol.
