Floor jack posts are typically made of steel for strength. They consist of an adjustable post and two end plates. The bottom end plate must be installed on a concrete floor or concrete footing. Bolts must be used to secure each end plate to the structure the post is supporting, and a floor jack post's end plates may or may not have pre-drilled holes for these bolts.
