Larvikite is a member of the Feldspar family. The name originates from the Larvik Fjord region in Norway, where this type of igneous rock is found. It is sometimes called "Black Moonstone" or "Blue Pearl Granite". The combination of the Blue steel look and copper beadcaps makes this one of my most stunning rosaries. The magnificent handmade traditional 5 decade rosary is handcrafted in Oklahoma and made of large 10mm faceted stones. The large Pardon Crucifix is 2 1/8 inches and is really stunning. Finished with a beautiful Copper colored Madonna, this rosary is a heirloom. The rosary is large enough to hang on the wall for display or carry and use. I've been told the larger beads are more comfortable for arthritic hands to hold. The natural stones warms up when you hold them.
