This is a rare ticket stub from the November 11th, 1963 evening performance of the Original South African production of the ALAN JAY LERNER and FREDERICK LOEWE musical "MY FAIR LADY" at the Alhambra Theatre in Cape Town, South Africa. (The Original Broadway production opened March 15th, 1956 at the Mark Hellinger Theatre in New York City and ran for 2717 performances. The London production opened April 30th, 1958 at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane and ran for 2281 performances. The Australian production opened January 24th, 1959 at Her Majesty's Theatre in Melbourne, Victoria.) ..... The musical starred BUNTY TURNER (who had starred in the Australian production) as "Eliza Doolittle", DAVID OXLEY as "Prof. Henry Higgins" and JOHN BASKCOMB as "Alfred P. Doolittle" and featured ANTHONY BAZELL, MINNIE LOVE, HOWARD DAVIES, FREDA WILSON, KEITH LEE, NORMA DENNIS, DENNIS CLINTON, JOAN GIBSON and ROY FRANCIS ..... CREDITS: Music by FREDERICK LOEWE; Book and Lyrics by ALAN JAY LERNER (Lerner and Loewe collaborated on "Brigadoon", "Paint Your Wagon", "My Fair Lady", "Camelot" and "Gigi") based on "Pygmalion" by BERNARD SHAW; Sets designed by OLIVER SMITH; Costumes designed by CECIL BEATON; Original Choreography by HANYA HOLM; Dances Restaged by PAT ROBERTS; Directed by BOB HERBERT; Produced by AFRICAN CONSOLIDATED THEATRES by special arrangement with J.
