Les Miserables

Always one step ahead of Javert, Valjean encounters the tragic Fantine, and ultimately rescues Fantine’s daughter, Cosette, from her wretched life with the Thénadiers, treating the child as his own as she comes of age in pre-revolutionary Paris.
