At 12 feet, this extension cord is longer than most of this type of design. While working on something with both hands, you may need to turn on lights, or a vacuum cleaner. This will do the trick. The foot switch actually has tiny indicators to show you whether the cord is live or not: 1 tiny orange light for off; 2 for on.

The plug is polarized for safety: One blade is wider than the other and so fit into outlets in one direction. On the other end there are three outlets with polarized blade-accepting holes. Each outlet has a disc which can be turned with a plug to open. When done you may turn it to close it for safety on carpeting and pine needles.
