Description
- A photoelectric sensor is an electronic device that uses light to detect the presence, absence, distance, or characteristics of an object. It works by emitting a light beam and analyze how the light interacts with the target object. These sensors are widely used in industrial automation, manufacturing, and safety systems due to their non-contact operation, reliability, and versatility.

- NPN NO (Normally Open): In its default state (no object detected), the NPN transistor is off, keeping the output open (no current flows). When an object is detected, the transistor turns on, closing the circuit and sinking current to ground, activating the load. Great for triggering actions on detection.
- To use a photoelectric sensor: Mount and align it so the light beam hits the target. Wire it correctly (NPN = connects to ground, PNP = connects to +V). Adjust sensitivity if needed. Test by blocking the beam—the sensor’s LED or output signal will confirm detection.
- Keep the sensor clean and avoid bright ambient light that might interrupt the detection result.
