- The Macallan Rare Cask is crafted using liquid aged in first-fill Sherry-seasoned oak casks. Bob Dalgarno, The Macallan’s Master Whisky Maker, hand-selects the finest whisky from less than one percent of the casks maturing at the distillery.
- Rare Cask has been crafted from only hand-picked Sherry-seasoned oak casks, some of the most precious and scarce in single malt whisky, with an exceptionally high proportion of them being first-fill.
- Rare Cask exemplifies the beautiful natural color and exceptional oak casks for which The Macallan is known.
- Spices lead loud and full, tempered by raisin; timeless, polished, rich and resonating oak takes control, as vanilla and chocolate complement each other in the background, ending with a light citrus zest.
- Opulent, soft and meandering: deep notes of quiet vanilla, already in tune; bold and booming raisin, yet only in spells.
Macallan's new Rare Cask uses handpicked first-fill sherry casks from the top 1% of barrels currently aging at the distillery.
